Quite White

PRESS.

A white carpet, a boxer in half-form, an old woman.

Quite White is a solo about resistance to transformation, acceptance of that transformation, and its subversive use. The changing body of a female body-builder and the changing body of an elderly woman.

Two transgressive bodies, judged and analyzed, which call into question the notion of femininity and sexuality, and whose social power and demands are often debated.

How can these “two bodies” – by entering into a shared intimacy with the public – be the means for subversive operations for/against society? To what extent is intimacy with the elements necessary to witness events? How can we overcome the audience’s own voyeuristic side and make them complicit with the artist’s purpose?
